Express: Personal debt crisis- surge in numbers seeking bankruptcy and other debt relief options:

A personal debt crisis has been confirmed with new figures showing a 23 percent rise in individual insolvencies. The total number reached 10,136 in February compared to 8,239 in the same month last year.

Harps Garcha, Director at Brooklyns Financial, said: "Sadly these numbers will continue to grow in the coming months, even though the latest GDP figures showed technically we are out of recession."
